Description
Vibrating Wire Crack Meter for Continuous Structural Monitoring
Geosense VWCM-4000 is a vibrating wire crack meter designed for continuous,
real-time monitoring of movement across surface cracks and joints in concrete,
masonry, rock, and structural elements.
The sensor consists of a robust outer body and a free-sliding internal rod connected
to a vibrating wire element, providing highly stable and reliable long-term
displacement measurements.
Measured Parameters
- Crack opening / closure (linear displacement)
Typical Measurement Range
- ±12.5 mm
- ±25 mm
- ±50 mm
- ±100 mm
Accuracy & Reliability
- High accuracy vibrating wire measurement
- Excellent long-term stability
- Suitable for permanent installations
Data Output & Integration
- Vibrating Wire output
- Compatible with dataloggers and IoT gateways
- Supports real-time data transmission to dashboards
- Ideal for continuous structural health monitoring
Typical Applications
- Structural crack monitoring in concrete and masonry
- Monitoring of joints and construction interfaces
- Bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and infrastructure
- Geotechnical and civil engineering projects
infrascan Integration
Geosense VWCM-4000 can be fully integrated into InfraScan monitoring systems,
providing real-time visualization, trend analysis, and automated alerts
through the monitoring dashboard.
Sensor selection and installation configuration are defined based on crack
behavior, required measurement range, and environmental conditions.
